The irony of modern Christian mentorship. Stuck in the Mire?

Have you ever felt like you’re sinking in mud? Feeling stuck in faith? Same sins keep tripping? Well, let’s talk. The way we received the gospel of Jesus was admirable bundled up with much sacrifice and love. Let’s think of the example of crucifixion and death of Jesus. Most believers in the aforementioned have no clue about what happened. Haven’t we believed in Jesus knowing He died, just died and hang on the cross with some nails and in addition beaten by the roman soldiers. What else have you comprehended?

Did you ever think of it that the suffering of Jesus was so intense that the stripping exposed Him to the world, the shame, agony and pain God left Jesus for a time for Jesus to feel what it means to pay the cost for sin. Him crying was not from usual pain no! it was more than this. left hungry and thirsty to a point of death? He was too thirsty to persevere. Having been beaten – ever seen clips of how people in slavery are handled by their oppressors (in hunger). Until the oppressor looks for someone to help Him carry the cross? Every follower of Christ was cast out from the society because they were rejected from the suffering accorded to the followers of Jesus. The ridicule of a king desperate on the cross. The piercing by Longinus- the soldier who pierced Him. Et cetera.

If we took time to really conceptualize the episodes of Christ life especially the suffering that made us free, poor to rich, Slaves to free, despised to glorified then the service we offer to God would mean something else. We would hardly abuse the grace.

That’s the least of intensity. We haven’t taken time to study for ourselves or had people who have taken keen interest to enlighten themselves for the sake of those who will come after them. We found people who fed from the well, somehow by the guidance of the Holy spirit and the intensity of the topic of redemption, they took salvation as a serious business. They worked on themselves overcame “small sins” but then what about you and I who have gotten born again recently, they assumed the way they overcome we already have too. So in churches we are full of godly men who keep on lying, lustful, in addiction of perversions, no need for prayers as long as you are strategic and financially stable. Elected in positions of leadership while being pathological liars, hungry for money and women- not just women but other men of Gods women.

Embrace discipleship class. Grow in the faith and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus.

Make your move thoughtfully.

One of the hardest choices we all face is categorically choosing where you should be and where you want to be. It’s not easy to resist the commonality that exists in the world around us. It’s in deciding against these forces, that our lives make a difference. The moment we realize that we have a choice to make, is the moment we make the first step towards progress and greatness; there is no hidden secret to a better life. It all lies in the choices we make every day.
One of the most transforming rules I cultured in chemistry was proposed by Henry Louis Le Chateliers and also we seldom quote Karl Ferdinand Braun who discovered it “in a different time
the ‘Chateliers’ principle or ‘The law of Equilibrium’ states that when a change is applied to a system in equilibrium the system shifts so as to oppose the change.
The oxford dictionary puts it even better that if a constraint (such as a change in pressure, temperature, or concentration of a reactant) is applied to a system in equilibrium, the equilibrium shifts so as to counteract the effect of the constraint. Everyone wants to be great but overcoming the resistance brought about by the need to be better is the real task which very few can in the ring. It’s only the ones dominated by unquenchable will for change endures.
If we will be part of the population to be enumerated as great and inspiring, we have to avoid complacency; those instances of self-satisfaction or rather contentment full of ignorance especially where one is not aware of impending danger.it often sounds too usual to the youngsters to be told, life is no joke and they quickly comprehend with a petite reasoning ability that the one telling them so is unaware or uninformed of new modes of making dollars. They are too full of pure imaginations or fantasy.
I’ve often seen another genre of thinkers who argue out that everyone’s graph is pre-drawn hence no need to be worried about what life offers, my friend wake up from your slumber, and probably take shower with ice-cold water, your brain must be melting ignorance. Whatever happens to your life solely is on you, the things you choose to do every day come back to you in full measure.
90% of the population today is too afraid to face the reality, to accept that life needs us to make a nifty choice, choices that need us to sacrifice several things, to pay at times for our previous ignorance, and to accept to learn new modes of handling what comes our way. Most of us fear facing the truth and this only leads us into a condition of mental paralysis which eventually leads to a terrible and painful failure
If you will make it in this life you have to critically examine your own life, criticize yourself, ruminate over and over until you can bring out the best version of yourself, bring out the best in what you do. It’s exclusively on you! If by any chance you fail, do not heap complain about anyone it’s all on you!

IN THE FACE OF THE PANDEMIA

The essence of hardship is to train us or perhaps remind us that mortal man must look unto his or her ending, any man as long as you are on this world none can ever be called happy so surely until the day one dies and carries his or her own happiness to the grave in peace. quoting from one of the great Greek writers; the Sophocles in the three Theban plays- Antigone, Oedipus at Colonus and Oedipus.

In the face of the pandemia facing the world today not even the mighty seem to have a clue on how to save the dying souls. Every face you meet none gives an assurance of a clean bill of health which is a bitter pill to swallow when we all have to live in fear anxiety and uncertainty not knowing what awaits us. In most African states it’s between the devil and the deep blue sea, however there’s the encouragement from the ecumenists versing “if my people …” by now am sure you too have memorized it.

The government is on the front line in urging Kenyan rich rental owners to take care of its tenants a tragedy to be looked over again once it’s over. A phatic meme of inquisitive bizarrerie has made the weighty trifling arguing out that maybe the landlords and ladies have chosen to outtake those who don’t speak much English during the custom water fetching in the plots taps. A major hit on those who portray their linguistic competence “parole” supposedly at the wrong points. When the government says don’t take rent from your tenants and the opportunistic Kenyans get feint hope the rental owners humbly give their feedback instantly to their tenants “if they said you don’t pay because we are having bad times please go and continue sympathizing in their houses”

There difficulties everywhere, the painting of the world today is full of agony and cries from bereaved to suffering faces to hungry parents and children who have been quarantined with no idea what’s in store for them.

This raises a very critical question, when the foundation has been shaken what shall the righteous do? do we have the guts to lament or repent? do we stay and await our fate? Is there hope for tomorrow or can we yet stand again and tell those around us that better days are yet to come?

In every circumstance, give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you! Huh that sounds like vinegar to a thirsty soul, but yes I mean that too maybe we have every reason to thank God for if it were not for HIM it could have been worse than the way it is right now.

“The 1918 influenza pandemic was the most severe pandemic in recent history. It was caused by an H1N1 virus with genes of avian origin. Although there is no universal consensus regarding where the virus originated, it spread worldwide during 1918-1919.  In the United States, it was first identified in military personnel in spring 1918. It is estimated that about 500 million people or one-third of the world’s population became infected with this virus. The number of deaths was estimated to be at least 50 million worldwide with about 675,000 occurring in the United States”( https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/1918-pandemic-h1n1.html)

We have had yet more dreadful moments before and the hand of God has seen us through what makes us feel as if he is not yet the same emotional (merciful) God we have always known him to be? God has feelings! that’s amazing, He shares in our sorrows, He feels bad over a death of a sinful soul, He hates to see us fall. There endless instances from significant texts that show a God who shares in our sufferings and therefore Jude reminds us that He’s the good God able to keep us from falling

Maybe the greatest test right now remains not in wondering whether we shall survive and escape the threats posed by the paroxysms and throe of COVID-19 but comprehending the purpose of God in the face of 2019’s pandemia.

Shalom.

WHY KENYA NEEDS TO BE REBORN

It was once honored to be an island of peace, over the past decade we lost the recognition and currently we are at a point when our once embraced aroma of peace is now like malodor before most nations of the world .I tend to fear the nations of the world making examples with this country over issues of insecurity and corruption, ethnicity, abuse of offices, culture erosion amongst others. It’s so shameful that the once epitome of peace and pleasure becomes an icon of disgrace .My big question is where and when did we lose the steps?

I once listened to a student of political science  and one of the most critical thing I tend to note from him is what he has observed from our Kenyan politician and many of those voted into the government offices “once your voted into the government offices forget about the issues of integrity” he says. This phrase touched me so much and I felt like asking myself where Kenya is currently and where we have come from or where we are heading to. Leaders are meant to be Gods representative on earth but what everybody knows is that for Kenya once voted integrity is gone and not long before you start stinking wealth.

As a nation we are at a state when leaders are okay when children are sucking dead mothers out of hunger in the northern part of Kenya. The last famine /foreign policy march 2, 2012 (foreignpolicy.com/2012/03/02/the last famine) .while at that very same time this is happening some of the officers in very high ranks are under scandals of selling food crops to neighboring countries!!! What an inhuman act. For a country like Kenya integrity is not any more an issue or as core factor but the ability to intellectually use underhand methods without being caught, after all you  are going to come out of office in a decade times in case you buy votes from the helpless taxpayers, lay men in the country and be voted in in the second round.

It’s incomprehensible how everyday people are motivated and put under the pressure of registering as voters and I really support all Kenyans to vote but on the other side how about the dons strike , the doctor’s strike is ongoing and less stable Kenyans living under abject states are dying since they can’t afford to visit a private hospital. Students are stranded like sheep without a shepherd because their dons are not paid but none can dare talk of that except encouraging us to register as voter .they shamelessly make promises whereas there are a dozen of promises unaccomplished .i hope one day we will have godly people who can lead Kenya to justice rather tribal and egocentric tricks .leaders who Christians will not keep on praying fervently that they may change rather the wailing women over our country will have secured the strength to pray for the moral leaders, orphans and themselves .

In one of the texts by John N. Nganga. Finding a life partner.  He says that we are living at a time when marriages do not have to last for long in Kenya and I believe in other nations of the world .divorce is no longer a critical thing .You can make any decision on your marriage whether to break free or marry a second wife and it doesn’t even seem obscene to the rest of the society .Actually some of our pastors are on a second wife despite the fact that the first wife is not dead.!!!!!! And this according to my thinking is the sole reason why revival in Kenyan churches can only be smelt from a distance in most of our churches and because the shepherds so to call them know it, they now speak of not anymore of the gospel of fire but on the gospel of “it shall be well , peace and wealth “ which they well know that the Kenyan flock will tend to believe from the fact that many are living in tattered shacks and desperate situations without hope for tomorrow and hence by no choice they will embrace the gospel.

Currently the church is living powerless because the alter of God  has been defiled and there is no more fire .Just like in the times of Jesus when evil spirits were dwelling in the temple where there were teachers of the law and they were comfortable until one Man full of anointing and power came and they shouted “leave us alone ,what have you got to do with us son of the most high God .“ But today in most Kenyan churches we are under powerless alter that the evil spirits are dwelling amidst and they are telling the so called men of God “leave us alone “.it’s shocking how 40% of the media coverage often you’ll hear of a pastor caught with a church members wife ,fake miracles ,vituko kanisani among others

I am worried because the Lords rod is high on this nations wickedness and that’s why we are exposed but woe unto them Jeremiah says “Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel”. They select the fat one in the church and slaughter them. They are after their own stomach and cares not for the orphans .and even though they’ve read what the lord deed to the olden days generation how the lord dealt with the likes of the shepherds they keep on doing the same .and this is the sole reason why most churches are cold .i wish Kenya would be reborn and there arises godly priests who can restore most churches to the authority to God.

I was going through a post in the social media and I felt touched. One friend wrote “there’s a special breed of men that I can’t stop thanking God for .they are men of honor and integrity men who have zeal for the lord …they honor their wives and respect the matrimonial bed because they are dignified …” this part of the post captured my attention and one of the things that flowed over my mind was the writer talks of a special breed this appears to me like it’s rare to find them or it’s only a small portion amongst the big population .Are the Kenyan Christians found in this circle of special breeds? It’s so sad that we are at a point when families are worse as hell .There’s a kikuyu wise saying that goes, The next worse thing after hell is a bad marriage .A majority of families in Kenya are at this zone simply because marriages are no more something to honor. Many children are left without a father figure, many are single parented, young campus students are under the so called sponsors, young able men under the influence of old women .there’s no shame .fathers are sleeping with their daughter’s .Today its normal for relatives to even have sex during family gatherings and none cares since its normal.

This wickedness has resulted to gynecological problems in most families people are barren not because of any other thing but because of the wrath of God. When Abimelech stole Abraham’s wife the whole household became barren Gen 20:1-18 according to Dr.Olukoya, Prayer Series 11 of Family Deliverance he states that the world is in chaos today because the problem has already taken roots in the local families. Unless the family has peace the country is not in peace and consecutively the world. The church is in chaos too .pastors are in pornography and are even engaging the members and to make it worse some pastors are already defiling a holy wedding by having sex with the bride a night before the wedding . Quoting from the Nairobian newspaper Thursday, February 16, 2017, “pastor broke my marriage with porn videos “pg. 9 all this instances are just happening and I ask myself how we will be saved?

Today it’s astonishing how most Kenyan are worshipping idols, in most of the places you go for evangelism and you ask the brethren what would you like us to pray for with you, the first thing 80% of the people would talk of the business .it has turned to be their hope .amazingly most business are under wicked powers .people have built cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. They have changed their glory (God) for that which does not profit.

The lord is ready to cleanse us if at all the lords people who have been called in the name of the lord shall humble themselves and pray.

May God remember us .shalom.
